About the Role
As Engineering Lead at Skylink Labs, you will own our backend systems and AI product development while mentoring the engineering team and shaping our technical direction. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with Product, Design, and QA to deliver AI-powered experiences at scale.
Backend Development & System Ownership
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Take ownership of existing backend systems and continuously improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and support system stability.
- Participate in technical design discussions and architectural improvements.
AI Product Development
- Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into production products.
- Work with AI services such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, AWS Bedrock, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver AI-powered user experiences.
- Evaluate technical solutions and recommend practical approaches to product challenges.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and support engineers within the team.
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Help establish development standards and improve team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and business stakeholders.
Cloud & Platform Operations
- Deploy and maintain services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Monitor system performance and support operational excellence.
- Improve observability, logging, monitoring, and development workflows.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:45 PM. Work location: An Khang Building, 28 Street 19, Binh Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Requirements
Experience (Must-Have)
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
Experience working in startup, scale-up, or product-focused environments.
Strong hands-on engineering mindset.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
Solid understanding of API design, system design, performance optimization, scalability, and software development best practices.
Cloud Platform
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Familiarity with services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
AI / LLM Experience
Experience integrating AI/LLM services into real-world products.
Familiarity with platforms such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, AWS Bedrock, or equivalent solutions.
Leadership & Communication
Ability to mentor team members and support technical growth.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with Firebase services (Auth, FCM, Analytics).
Experience with BigQuery or analytics platforms.
Knowledge of Flutter, React Native, or mobile application architecture.
Knowledge of QA processes, testing strategies, and release management.
Experience building consumer-facing mobile applications.
Familiarity with MLOps, AI workflow automation, or AI agent frameworks.
Experience using AI tools to improve software development productivity.
